Sustainable Community Forestry Management Assistance

The community forest includes all trees, vegetation, watersheds and wildlife in urban areas, developed sites or communities. State and local government rights-of-way, greenspace, undeveloped forests and parks in addition to private and commercial lands are all part of the community forest. Community forestry is the management of these resources. Management improves the environmental, social, health and economic well-being of the community.

The Sustainable Community Forestry Program provides the valuable resources community leaders need to develop and maintain a community tree care program. Whether through the technical knowledge of our Community Foresters or the professional assistance offered by Consulting Urban Foresters and certified Arborists, the financial assistance of our grant program, or the information supplied in our educational programs and materials about designing hardscapes, tree care, tree loss, or storm safety, the Sustainable Community Forestry Program works with all communities to care for their trees.
