Landowner Programs - Directories
The Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) has entered into partnerships with several natural resource organizations and their programs to provide conservation, cost-share, educational, and technical forestry services to landowners. The GFC administers the following programs. Landowners can contact their local GFC Forester to apply for participation.
Forest Legacy Program Georgia Forestry Commission Forest Legacy brochure (pdf)
This conservation land program is funded by the U.S. Forest Service to protect environmentally sensitive forest lands.
Forest Stewardship Program (FSP)
Funded by the USDA Forest Service this program provides professional natural resource consultant services and management plans to landowners. FSP information and forms for Georgia.
GROWS (Georgia Recognizes Our Woodland Stewards)
This Forest Stewardship Program component provides a forum for exchanging information and sharing ideas on how to manage forestland.
Southern Pine Beetle Initiative (SPB)
This cost-share program is funded by the U.S. Forest Service to implement practices that will either prevent, or minimize, future impacts of southern pine beetle infestations or to restore areas already impacted.
Team Agriculture in Georgia (TAG)
A multi-agency collaboration to assist small and limited resource farmers
Future Forests
An educational partnership between the Georgia Forestry Commission, Future Farmers of American (FFA) and landowners.
