Purpose
The Georgia Forestry Commission (GFC) is seeking to partner with Consulting Foresters and Certified Prescribed Burning Contractors to conduct prescribed burns on more than 18,000 acres of private forestland across the native longleaf pine range. This pilot project is funded through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF).

Project guidelines and program details can be found here. Please refer to the eligibility map to see if your county is eligible. A portal for entering property-level information for 2026 burn tracts is currently under development and will be released at a later date.
Application Process
The contractor sign-up period will be open from January 26, 2026 to February 2, 2026.
A GFC representative will follow up after applications are submitted.
