Information

Georgia Forestry Commission's Forestry Services Directory

Georgia Forestry Commission's procedure is to refer landowners to our Forestry Services Directory to find forestry services vendors. GFC maintains this directory for landowners as a reference, not as an endorsement. GFC primarily contacts vendors in the Forestry Services Directory when accepting bids for specific forestry services.

How do I register to do business with the State of Georgia?
http://www.doas.ga.gov/TGM/Pages/TGMSuppliers.aspx

Debarred Vendors

Prior to the issuance of any purchase order, the state Debarred and Suspended Contractors list must be checked to ensure contractor is not listed as being debarred from doing business with the State of Georgia.

In addition, where federal funds are being utilized, the Federal “Excluded Parties List System (EPLS)" must be checked to ensure the vendor is not listed prior to the signing of any contracts or issuance of purchase order.

W-9 Information and Form

Anyone receiving a payment from the Georgia Forestry Commission must have their W-9 information on file with GFC purchasing. Click here for a W-9 form or visit the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website at www.irs.gov.

DUNS Number Requirement for Federal Grant Applications

Organizations are required to have a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number to apply for a grant or cooperative agreement from the Federal Government. The DUNS number is a unique nine-character identification number provided at no charge by the commercial company Dun & Bradstreet. The DUNS number is also a prerequisite for another applicant organizational requirement: registration in the Federal Government's Central Contractor Registry. Registration in this system (CCR) is a requirement for all grantees and a current requirement for grantees applying for federal assistance through http://www.grants.gov/.

To obtain a DUNS number by phone call 1-866-705-5711. Be prepared to answer the following questions:

  1. Name of business

  3. Local phone number
  4. Name of the CEO/business owner
  5. Legal structure of the business (corporation, partnership, proprietorship)
  6. Year business started
  7. Primary line of business
  8. Total number of employees (full and part time)

You also may obtain a DUNS number on-line at the Dunn & Bradstreet (www.dnb.com) website which may take up to 20 business days.
