“The Worth County team brings its best to every landowner it serves,” said Georgia Forestry Commission Director Johnny Sabo. “Among their many achievements, each ranger has put in more than 400 hours in landowner services. Their actions keep communities safer and we congratulate them on this award.”

The GFC Worth County team was recognized for its average fire response time of six minutes and its record for keeping average fire size at less than 3.5 acres. Notable as well was the unit’s average equipment inspection score of more than 97%.

“Everyone takes responsibility for keeping our equipment in excellent shape,” said Tyler Harden, Georgia Forestry Commission’s Worth County Chief Ranger. “We know we can be called out any time of day or night, so we are always ready.”

Harden said the group keeps a strong focus on teamwork, and credits GFC personnel in surrounding counties for assistance when needed. Besides Harden, Jim Reynolds and Remington Smith serve as rangers in Worth County.
