Georgia recognizes the benefits of prescribe fire. In an effort to increase acres burned annually in our state, Georgia has created a reciprocal agreement to allow certified burners from other southern states to apply to become certified burners in Georgia.
Who is Eligible?
Certified burners from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia are eligible to submit the reciprocal agreement.
How to Apply:
Click here to download the affidavit. The affidavit will need to be filled out and notarized before it is mailed in. In order to be considered valid and legal, the original (no copies) must be submitted with a notary seal and signature.

Please include mailing address, email and phone number to be added to database. Once entered into the database, a Georgia prescribed burner certification number and certificate will be created and mailed to the address you’ve provided.
